Book “Circassia,” Franco Maria Ricci Publishing House (1988)

After completing our work in Genoa, we set off for the fourth destination on our journey – the unique Franco Maria Ricci publishing house, where the book “Circassia” is presented. This place is known as the Labirinto della Masone—the world’s largest labyrinth, created entirely from bamboo. The Labirinto della Masone is not only an impressive architectural structure but also the home of a unique publishing house, which also serves as a museum, preserving rare historical artifacts.

The history of the Franco Maria Ricci publishing house is fascinating: it was founded by two friends—writers, historians, and travelers who gathered information for their books from around the world. The publishing house is known for its limited editions, and the book ‘Circassia’ is part of its golden collection. The book’s cover is made of silk with gold embroidery, the pages are of high-quality paper, and the illustrations are true works of art, created by hand. The price of this unique book is 180 euros, underscoring its exclusivity.

Our visit was arranged in advance with the publishing house’s management, and we were provided with a specialist well-versed in the history of the creation of the book ‘Circassia.’ We conducted an interview with Dott. Del Pane Cesare, during which he detailed the process of preparing the book for publication, the sources of information, and the craftsmanship involved in its creation. This visit was extremely informative and productive, providing us with rich material for further work.

Thus, our journey continues, bringing more and more discoveries and valuable knowledge, which we are delighted to share with you.
